Bristol Black Spiced

Christmas Surprise Box Featuring Bristol Black Spiced Rum

CHRISTMAS IN A BOTTLE!

Bristol Black is an example of Spiced Rum or a Spirit Drink as legislation requires it to be called. It is a unique blend of white Rum from Mauritius and dark Rum from the island of Trinidad and Tobago, aged between 3 to 5 years. These Rums provide the base for a blend of spices based upon salt liquorice, a much-loved flavour within the Nordic regions. The inclusion of oil of orange provides a deep and mouth filling flavour, free of vanilla and cinnamon.

The original conception evolved when chatting with our distributors for the Scandinavian markets where it is often consumed as a Hot Grog, served in a Toddy glass. The Spiced Rum characteristics allowed incorporation into our current range of fine Rum from around the World. Bristol Black is presented in a high quality, black cardboard gift tube with metallic silver lid, displaying the unique Bristol Classic Rum identity. This offers a prestigious feel as well as keeping the distinctive Rum bottle secure.

As a Spirit Drink, this can also be consumed neat; in fact, John prefers this as a long drink mixed with dry ginger ale, ice and a slice of orange. A classic rum drink that’s easy to put together at home.

They like to keep some mystique at Bristol, Bristol Black has been described as ‘Bristol in a bottle’. Traditionally a city located in the West of England, Bristol has a long history of importing and exporting premium products. With Bristol Black you can be assured of a fantastic Spiced Drink, evolved by John, someone highly respected within the industry.

TASTING NOTES

On the nose this dark rum is full with molasses, clove, spices, tobacco and hints of orange and lime citrus. Some are even reminded of Christmas by its very distinctive fruit cake and spice aromas.

November’s Surprise Box of Craft Rum Featuring Angostura 1919

A RICH RUM HISTORY

A delightful light golden rum of incomparable taste, Angostura 1919 is one of the most successful rums of the House of Angostura. Named for the year it was casked, Angostura 1919 is a light blend of rums aged in charred, used bourbon oak casks and distilled in Angostura’s multi-column continuous still.

Angostura 1919 is a rum with a unique story. In 1932 following a catastrophic fire hundreds of charred casks filled with rum, were found at Trinidad’s Government Rum Bond. Creative blending of this precious find, rum that had been aging 13 years, resulted in a delightful light golden rum of incomparable taste. This ‘spirit of Trinidad’ was proudly shipped to Trinidadian troops fighting far away from home in World War II.

Angostura 1919 is the only rum in the premium category to capture a Master in the international 2013 Spirits Business Rum Masters. Between 2010 and 2015 Angostura 1919® took home 23 medals from prestigious competitions including the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, the World Rum Awards, the Rum Master Awards, the World Spirits Awards, the International Wine and Spirit Competition and more (see appendix).

A luxury sipping rum that pairs beautifully with desserts and chocolate.
