Edmund Wood, owner and founder of Belgrove Spiced Rum grew up in the Lake District, in Cartmel, the home of sticky toffee pudding! He then came to London for uni and studied Physics. After uni he went into the food & drink industry and worked for Associated British Foods for 6 years. He had always loved the world of food & drink and had always wanted to start his own business – he just didn’t know what form it would take.

We found out how it all started and where he found inspiration for his new expression.

Edmund wanted to create a rum that complemented their 1st Expression building on a small range of flavours; one that was in keeping with the brand and lent itself to a whole different raft of delicious cocktails, After leafing through his flavour thesaurus and after months of trialing new combinations he arrived at spiced fig & blackberry. Rich and fruity, with gentle notes of honeycomb, raspberry & a hint of cinnamon, it was worthy of joining the Belgrove shelf.

The rum is made from 100% Demerara sugar cane grown in Guyana and is distilled at the famous Diamond Distillery using wooden pot & Coffey stills and is a blend of ages up to 12 years. The Demerara rum is imported into the UK and infused with real ingredients, all natural flavours – nothing artificial goes into the bottle.

EQUIANO LIGHT

A Journey of Enlightenment

Equiano Light comprises molasses rum distilled at the award-winning Foursquare Distillery, in copper pot stills that give the rum greater complexity and depth of flavour. It is truly an artisanal small batch process, whilst the column still allows the final blend to have a superior balance both in aroma and on the palate. It is then blended and aged in once used Bourbon barrels for a minimum of 3 tropical years. The Barbadian rum is then skilfully blended with unaged rum made from fresh sugarcane juice from Africa. This “cane juice” rum is distilled in a single column still to produce a refreshingly light rum that retains all of the natural grassy notes of the raw sugar cane ingredients.

COLOUR

In your glass you’ll see a subtle light golden hue, almost sugarcane beige, which is a result of the careful blending of barrel aged and unaged rums from Barbados & Mauritius.

ON THE NOSE: A harmonious balance of fresh sugarcane with hints of vanilla, dried light oak and touches of earthy, herbal notes normally associated with sugarcane juice rum. The 43% abv also delivers aromas of light tropical fruits, citrus oils and hints of green apple as it warms and acclimatises to your glass.

ON THE PALATE: The initial mouth feel of this light rum is a medium sweet taste of ripe sugarcane, more tropical fruit and citrus peel, layered with green apples, pears and hints of vanilla and light oak on the palate. The experience is light bodied with the natural, subtle sweetness of exotic fruits.

TO FINISH: The aged Barbadian component takes centre stage here, as the tropical aging of the rum, in once used American oak barrels, leaves a light dusting of wood on the finish. The initial sweetness quickly dries off leaving citrus peel, touches of vanilla, white pepper and sweet spices.

OUR LIQUID’S JOURNEY & OUR DISTILLERS

BARBADOS

Foursquare Rum Distillery is wholly owned by the Seale family and is thus one of the few remaining independent family-owned producers in the Caribbean. The distillery exports RL Seale 10-Year-old, the Foursquare exceptional cask series, the Doorly’s range of fine rums and a partnered collaboration with The Real McCoy Rum and now the World’s first African & Caribbean rum, Equiano. The Distillery has been the International Spirits Challenge (ISC) Rum Producer of the Year four times, in 2016 through 2019 and the International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC) Rum Producer of the Year twice, in 2016 and 2018.

MAURITIUS

Gray’s Distillery is a member of the Terra Group and a pioneer of distillation in Mauritius. The sugar cane harvest starts in June, every year. From Terra, covering over 17,500 acres, only the finest cane from the best plots of the domaine is selected to seize the essential element in the concoction of their traditional molasses rum. Benefiting from experts’ input, natural flavours resulting from the distillation, collected from the 52 distillation column trays, will produce the best rums from the African continent. Oak barrels from the Limousin, France, and Cognac cask will then do their work, slowly and patiently ageing rum, which will give Equiano all its flavour, softness, and its distinctive amber tan.

PHILANTHROPY

DJ set from Steve Scallon, our cocktail of the month – a very summery Sherry Mojito Spritz, recipes to try, food corner as we embark on our 2nd year of publication.

Expressions:

Drinking neat, there is immediate orange on the nose, which follows through on tasting but combines with vanilla notes and slight caramel tones. Then comes a crescendo of molasses from the original rums, resulting in an exceptionally smooth long finish.

History;

Very early on Innovatus knew they wanted to work with a Brand Ambassador for Wing Walker Rum, and it was fortuitous that they were introduced to the national treasure that is Phil Tufnell, England cricketer and King of the Jungle. Phil has been instrumental in getting Wing Walker off the ground. His passion, enthusiasm and sense of adventure is synonymous with what they had envisioned for their rum.

Innovatus stands for adventure. After the Great War, during which there were great strides in aircraft development and flying skills, hundreds of planes were lying around that were no longer needed. These could be snapped up for peanuts by young dare devils who had caught the flying bug. And so the flying circus was invented and within that, the Wing Walkers. The story goes that those that landed safely after performing a stunt were given a tot of congratulatory rum. The Wing Walker Premium Spiced Rum celebrates the sense of adventure of these intrepid aviators!

About THE LOVERS RUM:

A blend of rums, each with its own style, character, personality and flavour, much like our own mix of ethnicity and cultures, combining five very distinctive Latin American and Caribbean rums.

Our unique bottle feature displays a Tarot card label that is instantly recognisable. The design displays a myriad of layered symbols that directly connect the characteristics and flavour profile of this rum. The label’s story is one of adventure, exploration and fantasy, full of hidden messages. As each new rum in this series is released, a unique Tarot card label on the bottle will tell the story of the rum inside.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Lovers Rum was born out of a passion for the liquid that gave base to some of the most well-known classic rum cocktails, and its concept was inspired by a family tradition of fortune-telling amongst the women in my family.

The idea behind the Damoiseau Pink Guava was to replicate a typically traditional Antilles style. A myth tells that guava juice was called “the nectar of gods.”
Guava is a tropical fruit, similar to apples and pears, round or oval- shaped with green, yellow, or slightly pink skin. The fruit contains small, hard seeds and has a frahttps://clientview.mo-am.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/unnamed-2-1.jpg, flowery aroma and bold flavour, it tastes like a combination of pear and strawberry. The freshly cut guava are instantly bottled with rhum agricole from Guadeloupe, sugar cane syrup and vanilla. Meticulous maceration makes for a particularly flavoursome product.

TASTING NOTES PINK GUAVA!
APPEARANCE: Pale yellow
NOSE: INTENSE ! – guava, strawberry, peach, fresh cane, vanilla
TEXTURE: Silky
PALATE: Well-rounded, mellow attack. The exotic flavors burst in mouth
BEST ENJOYED: Stored in the refrigerator. Once the bottle has been opened, don’t forget to shake it regularly for optimal preservation.

Cleméntine Guillot, Damoiseau European Brand Ambassador, is very excited to be introducing this new expression in the Damoiseau Arrangé series to the UK.  We thought you’d like to hear a little about what makes rum special for her.

Who is Clémentine Guillot?

A Rum lover! 100% French but Italy is my adopted country and in normal globetrotting times!

After graduating in Business, I worked as a digital marketing manager for a few international companies.  Ditching the nine-to-five, I started a new adventure as a rum ambassador in Italy six years ago – an opportunity which has now become a passion. I have been hosting master classes and events to showcase the distillery’s unique rhums from the Damoiseau family to fine spirits enthusiast around the globe.

What made you fall in love with rum and when did it happen?

It happened when I was 10 years old during the visit of a distillery in the Caribbean islands with my parents. Let me reassure you it wasn’t about drinking yet, just tasting a sugar cane. I was amazed by a wonderful island, a tropical atmosphere, a lifestyle, and good vibes!

Actually, rum is pretty like my ‘Proust’s madeleine’. Indeed, happiness sometimes comes from our memory, those days we would like to keep forever. For Proust it was a madeleine, a French mini cake shared with his aunt. For me it was a stick of sugarcane with my family. I definitely fell in love with rum twenty years after when I came back to Guadeloupe as an adult. Nothing had changed, just my stick of sugarcane switched naturally into a glass of Ti-punch.

What is the ingredient that gets you up in the morning and makes you want to continue in the rum industry?

Passion for this spirit and its values: FAMILY BUSINESS, TERROIR APPROACH, HOSPITALITY

I feel so grateful to work for a family craft distillery. The Damoiseau family have owned their iconic distillery since 1942 and have been producing craft Agricole rhums for three generations.

My mission is to spread their savoir-faire and their vision “original by tradition” that

expresses their willingness to innovate constantly without losing their roots. My strong desire to highlight Guadeloupe all around the globe through the production of Agricole rhum.

Rum is really versatile and friendly, it’s a pleasure product shared with a huge variety of consumers.

Local people, bartenders, head chefs, cellar-persons, collectors, final consumers, cigar lovers, all of collaborators…

All these aspects make me feel happy and motivated when I get up!

Favourite drink and cocktail recipe?

I’m personally a huge tiki lover! I was inspired by the tropical way of life! But I admit that during this epic period, I really like to enjoy my own Guada Mule, such an easy way to enjoy fresh ingredients from Guadeloupe!

Cheers and stay safe!

Cuban Culture

Rum is a big part of Cuba’s national identity, and for the Cuban people, its personal! The country has had a colourful past, and its love affair with rum, and its production is no different. The highly regarded and highly protected Cuban rum style/quality we know today, was actually set in “Rum Law” around the mid 1800’s. Today Cuban rum and its production is one of the most tightly regulated in the category. Part of the “Rum Law” states that post-production it is forbidden to add any colour, flavour, sweetener, or additives of any kind to the distillate.  Also to be labelled as “Cuba Ron” the distillate must be a minimum of two years old. That is how it has always been. Until now! Until the original founders of The Island Rum Co. came along! It has taken them over 11 years to produce an authentic blend compliant with “Rum Law” that would meet the approval of Cuba Ron SA, the Cuban rum regulator and AZCUBA, Cuban sugar industry, both arms controlling ALL of Cuba’s rum production.

The Island Rum Company

2012 saw The Island Rum Company established by three passionate entrepreneurs and innovators. Their idea? to combine Cuban influence and networks with deep international drinks industry experience, and bring to the world unique, new, and exciting Cuban um brands. This would be done by marrying the traditions of Cuban rum making with innovation and progressive thinking in product development. The first thing on the agender, was to create the world’s first, (and currently only) ‘Spiced’ Cuban Rum. Now remember, according to Cuban “Rum Law” you cannot add anything to your distillate. “So how is a ‘Spiced’ product possible” I hear you ask? The answer is not a simple one that’s for sure! and has taken many years to perfect. But perfect it they have in the brand Black Tears Dry Spiced. So much so, that

The Island Rum Co. now own the Varona distillery in the province of Ciego de Avila. There is an official Joint Venture Agreement with the Cuban government, who own and control every aspect of rum production on the island.  This has only ever happened once before, with Pernod Ricard and the Havana Club brand. This is one element of the assets they now own as part of the Joint Venture Agreement. The other is the aging house and warehouse in Havana and the barrels of rum held within – now over 8,000 barrels!

Black Tears traces back to an important time of Cuba’s historical musical culture.

Lagrimas Negras (literal translation, Black Tears) is the title of a song, written in 1928 by Cuban born Miguel Matamaros, and is thought to have been integral in the creation of new song and dance genres, as well as instigating the Afro-Cuban movement, bringing together people from different cultures, backgrounds, and even different Caribbean islands. The song was originally written as a (tragic) love song but has evolved to become a kind of second national anthem for the Cuban people–an anthem OFthe people. Today it is still as engrained in (and important to) daily life as it was when it was first released. ALL Cubans know it. ALL Cubans love it. ALL Cubans have a story attached to it.

For The Island Rum Company, there was never any doubt about what the worlds’ first ‘Spiced’ Cuban rum would be called, it had to represent the Cuban people, their culture, what they have been through, and what the future holds. Lagrimas Negras was the only choice. The creation and release of Black Tears Dry Spiced is a huge thing for two main reasons – the first being it is only the second time Cuba has partnered with a foreign company when it comes to rum, and second, it is the first time ever that anyone has been allowed to create a ‘Spiced’ variant of Cuban rum. Black Tears Dry Spiced truly is the first of its kind, and not only demonstrates how far Cuba and its rum category has come since the revolucion, but also just how good ‘Spiced’ rums can be.

Black Tears launched into the UK in October 2019 and has been growing and developing the brand ever since, and everyone knows that 2020 was a tough year, so imagine trying to develop a brand and educate the masses whilst dealing with all of that too! But in keeping with the Cuban ethos on life, hard work pays off.

Expressions

Cuban rum (Ron) is usually dryer than most other Spanish styles of rum due to its production. This could be due to the yeast used and/or the plates in which the distillate is drawn from. Therefore a lot of young/white Cuban rum will carry the message ‘od’ being ‘dry’. The spices are also all ‘dry’ – as in not a liquid flavour or sweetener like caramel or sugars etc. The spicing of Black Tears Dry Spiced HAD to be 100% indigenous to Cuba, there can be nothing imported as the Cuban ‘Rum Law’ doesn’t allow this. The Island Rum Co. chose the infusion ingredients to create a very different and unique flavour of Cuban rum that best represents the island and its people. The term ‘Dry Spiced’ is a nod to the fact that the ingredients used are all natural too and tells the consumer this is not a sweet or sweetened product. Also, if the base rum was not ‘spiced’ it would be labelled as ‘Sliver Dry’ or ‘Dry white’ for example.

Unsweetened unadulterated rum in the prohibition tradition of legendary rumrunner Bill McCoy

The Real McCoy® is proud to be the real deal:  an unmodified, aged single blended rum that is authentically, ethically & sustainably produced at a fourth-generation family distillery in Barbados. A traditional style with no added sugar or flavourings, vegan and naturally gluten free.  Copper pot & column distilled in small batches and tropically bourbon barrel aged for 3, 5 or 12 years, The Real McCoy has won over 100 awards.  Our heritage is based on the legendary Bill McCoy, Prohibition’s gentleman rum runner, who, in 1920, sailed just 3 miles off the U.S. coast, legally delivering only top quality, unadulterated spirits which became known worldwide as “The Real McCoy.”

The Inspiration

In January 1920, when Prohibition began, Capt. Bill McCoy was the first to fill his boat with rum in the Caribbean, sail up the East Coast, and act as a floating liquor store, legally, as he stayed three miles offshore in international waters. (Clever, right?) A respected shipwright & sailor, McCoy was a gentleman rumrunner and lived by a code of honour – never adulterating his product. Other rumrunners cut their alcohol with wicked chemicals to make nasty “Booze” and “Hooch,” but McCoy took pride in always providing top-quality spirit – prompting the patrons of the speakeasies of New York to be sure to ask for “The Real McCoy.”

The Distiller

Intrigued by this discovery, Bailey followed the trail to Barbados, and learned of the Seale family, who were rum traders in the 1920s.   As fortune would have it, the fourth-generation, Richard Seale was still very much in the rum making business as owner and Master Distiller at the family’s Foursquare Distillery.

In an even bigger stroke of luck, Richard Seale shares the same ethos as Bill McCoy and Bailey and follows the Barbados heritage which excludes the use of sweeteners or adulterants of any kind.

The two decided to create a Rum inspired by Bill McCoy, a traditional Barbados Rum without sweeteners and made in a traditional style, in short, The Real McCoy!

This philosophy paid off, and in the years since both The Real McCoy and Richard Seale established their places amongst the most awarded and in the world, with 100+ accolades for ‘McCoy and Foursquare achieving five consecutive ISC “Rum Producer of the Year”.

The Geeky Stuff!

Our rums are produced by a slow, 44-hour fermentation of molasses in closed tanks, that allow us to control the temperature, maintain unprecedented consistency, and avoid contamination.  Thanks to this careful fermentation and the use of one of the very few Double Retort Copper Pot Stills left in the Caribbean, we are able to obtain a very complex but elegant distillate.

Using this type of still is difficult, slow, and expensive, as it is a very complex process that requires the constant attention of the distiller, but we think you will agree that it’s worth it!

Island life also makes sustainability & eco-minded operation very worthwhile and Foursquare is very proud to operate wisely:  The business is 100% solar powered; closed-top fermentation allows for capture of CO2 which used for soda on the island to prevent greenhouse gasses; waste mash solids and liquids are separated and aerated and re-purposed for irrigation, fertiliser, and animal feed.

By ageing on the Island we are able to take advantage of the tropical climate. Being on the Equator, Barbados is blessed with a constant temperature of around 30C, which “speeds up” the ageing process, making a 5yo Barbados Rum roughly comparable to a Rum aged three times as long in Europe!

Of course, like in all things in life, there is a trade off, and tropical evaporation (the infamous Angel’s Share) is 6-8% annually – up to four times higher than continental aging. For comparison, we have an evaporative loss of 70% for our 12 Years Old, whereas the same rum aged in Scotland would have a loss of less than 10%!

After aging for the full number of years on the label, the last step is blending of the different barrels and bringing down to proof with pure Barbados water, as we age at 65 ABV and that can be a little strong for most!

The Result?  Soft, luxurious texture, Caramel and Vanilla notes with a lingering finish of toasted coconut and tobacco, not bad uh?

Please find a summary of the Chairman’s Reserve Legacy feature taken from #RUMSPRIATION_MAGAZINE;

Chairman’s Legacy is a tribute to Laurie Barnard, the “Chairman” of St. Lucia Distillers whom inspired and created the iconic brand Chairman’s Reserve. His vision to define and reinvent the Saint Lucian rum category was unlike anything the rum category had seen before or has seen since. While other distilleries were

purchasing column stills to increase production, Laurie was investing in eclectic barrel types, small pot stills, a proprietary yeast strain, and sugarcane. He believed that the best rum was not achieved from one barrel, but by blending different components together of different ages, finishes, styles, and base materials.

Expressions

RUM BLEND: Chairman’s Legacy showcases the art of blending pot and column still rums. In addition to traditional molasses based rums, “Legacy” features the addition of sugarcane juice distillate, a trademark of Laurie since the day he grew sugarcane around the distillery to isolate the signature proprietary yeast Chairman’s Reserve is so famous for.

MATURATION: Tropically aged separately by batch and still type in ex- bourbon barrels.

AGE: A blend of rums aged between five and eight years.

TASTING NOTES: Mahogany hue in the glass. Pineapple, banana, and vanilla on the nose. Intense grilled tropical fruit and spice on the palate persist throughout a long wonderful finish.

We have also launched our very own branded bartender syrups – our 1st release

Please find summary of the feature below taken from #RUMSPRIATION_MAGAZINE detailing the concept behind Pusser’s Spiced rum;

Pusser’s Spiced takes our beautiful Pusser’s Gunpowder proof rum and we delicately add a balance of spices to enhance additional notes to the original blend. When developing the Pusser’s Gunpowder Spiced we wanted the original Pusser’s Gunpowder proof base rum to shine through, but to add complimentary layers to this liquid. We looked into our own history and took inspiration from the historic links to the British Virgin Islands where tropical fruits grow.

Expressions

Banana notes proved perfect to be introduced as it complements the demerara, caramel and vanilla notes already in the base Pusser’s Gunpowder proof rum. In order to get a warmth we experimented with ginger which were then balanced by lingering milk chocolate. Spiced rum tends to be enjoyed in cocktails or mixers too. Doorly’s Rum Tasting | Evening Hosted Online by Peter Holland

Doorly’s Rum Tasting Online

An Evening Hosted by Peter Holland

**x6 50ml Drams for £26!**

Friday 9th April @19:30-20:30

Join us for our Doorly’s Online Rum Tasting, a sensual journey hosted by Peter Holland, Foursquare’s UK Brand Ambassador, to discover some of the best rums Barbados has to offer, including the remarkable Doorly’s 14 year old rum. A rum bridging the gap between Foursquare Distillery’s commercial range and its limited edition Exceptional Cask Selection.

The R.L.Seale Company formed in 1926, buying and blending bulk rum, selling under their own label. In 1993 they purchased an abandoned sugar estate and factory that dated back to the 17th century, and built the award winning Foursquare Distillery.
The Martin Doorly Company is just one of the contemporaries of the Seale family back in the early 1900’s. Historically significant, the acquisition of the brand helps tell the story of Barbados Rum.

To highlight the quality and diversity of Doorly’s range of rums, you will receive six 50ml drams, the youngest being 3 years and the oldest being 14 years as well as learn how The Rum Duty Act 1906 changed rum distribution in Barbados and what it means today.

What’s in your tasting kit for the Doorly’s Rum Tasting?

All tasting kits will be posted out by Tuesday 6th April and the virtual meeting invite will be sent out on Thursday 8th April.

Look forward to seeing you there.

Ninefold Dormont Spiced rum

Februarys Spiced Rum from Ninefold launches with Craft Rum Club

Februarys Dormont Spiced Rum Box from Ninefold Celebrates British Innovation

Februarys Spiced Rum Box from Ninefold Celebrates British Month and launches their new spiced rum exclusively for our members.

Craft Rum Club has launched Dormont Spiced Rum the newest release from Ninefold Distillery to our members who were lucky to taste the very 1st batch. Ninefold is a small artisanal Scottish rum distillery in Dumfries & Galloway. Thier small-batch Scottish spiced rum Dormont Spiced is made entirely from scratch by owner/distiller Dr Kit Carruthers. A blend of imported sugar cane molasses is fermented for three to four days, before being double distilled on a handmade Scottish 500 litre copper pot still. The resulting rum, which comes off the still at around 90% ABV, is reduced down to bottling strength with water, rested for up to a week, and then naturally flavoured with nutmeg, allspice and star anise. A little soft brown cane sugar is used to slightly sweeten and darken the rum, with some colour adjustment made with caramel colouring. This whole process takes about two weeks, with the rum being bottled and hand labelled, at the distillery, making Dormont Spice a truly artisanal and authentic Scottish spiced rum.

The award winning base spirit, bottled and sold as Ninefold Pure Single Rum, has lots of butterscotch, caramel, molasses and some smokiness and vanilla on the nose. On the palate, it is almost buttery in mouthfeel, retains the caramel with some citrus and sweetness, and has a peppery spiciness on the finish. Dormont Spiced retains all these notes and flavours, but builds on them with complimentary nutmeg and allspice, and a dash of anise before the pepperiness kicks in. The brown sugar rounds out the mouthfeel and flatters the strength of the rum. Beautifully drinkable on its own, it also shines when mixed with fresh apple juice, pineapple juice, or cola with a squeeze of lime and plenty of ice.

Ninefold Distillery lies at the heart of Dormont Estate in Dumfries & Galloway, on Dormont Home Farm. The Dormont branch of the Carruthers family have stewarded and worked this estate in an unbroken lineage for over 450 years, with Kit being the latest in line to be heir to the estate. The estate is a traditional mix of farming, forestry, rented cottages and fishing tourism. The distillery is therefore the latest diversification move by the estate, helping put back into use some beautiful old buildings that had fallen into disuse. The distillery logo – a six-winged angel, or ‘seraphim’ – is the Carruthers family crest and takes pride of place on the front of each bottle of Ninefold rum. The name ‘Ninefold’ comes from medieval angelology, where the seraphim is the highest order of the nine celestial attendants.

The still house at Ninefold Distillery is set in a newly converted 150+ year old stone cattle byre, and has just about enough room for the rum production. There is a second building on the farm which is the bond (also a converted cattle shed), and this has space for approximately 300 casks. Currently there are just 10 casks quietly maturing away, but the distillery plans to ramp up production in 2021 and start building some beautiful aged rum stock. A single cask of one year old rum was released in September 2020, with more releases planned for later in 2021.

Februarys Rum Box from MAINBRACE RUM is a blend of fine rum from Guyana and Martinique Traditionally crafted with a modern twist, Mainbrace is a unique golden rum. A premium blend of 2–5-year-old rums from three different stills in Guyana and an unaged Agricole from Martinique.

It is produced using locally sourced sugar cane, as well as traditional pot and column still distillation. The same methods and stills were used to create rum for the British Navy as far back as 1732. The rum speaks for itself and that is why there are no sweeteners or colorings added to the blend.

Guyana

The blend originates from Guyana near the banks of the Demerara River in 1670 – a region that is home to its own eponymous variety of rum. It is crafted with rums aged between 2-5 years from three different stills, all bringing their own unique character and natural sweetness to the blend.

The first part of the blend comes from a double wooden pot still in Port Mourant. These stills have been making rum for the navy since 1732.

The second part is from the wooden Coffey still originally found at the Enmore Sugar Estate. This is the last still of its kind in the world.

The final part comes from an original four-column French Savalle still, dating back to the 18th century.

Martinique

The Agricole part of the blend comes from La Favorite in Martinique, which was established in 1842 and is well-known for their punchy Agricoles even at low ABVs.

The initial earthy textures you experience when sipping Mainbrace can be attributed to this distillery.

The distillery is powered on a closed-loop system that uses the excess fibres (bagasse) of sugar cane to fuel its furnaces. These then create the steam to distil their Rhums making the distillery extremely sustainable. In fact, they are the last distilleries in Martinique still working purely from steam.

We hope you agree that Februarys Rum Box from Mainbrace is a great celebration of British innovation.
